The begining of Field reporting of CNN

In about 1986 CNN became a Affiliate with a UHF station out of Boise
Idaho while Idaho was in a Governor declared State of Emergency - The
Emergency was the extreme Number of Forest Fire's - In the 1980' I Guy
Perea worked in Fire as a Fire Fighter for wildland suppression and
later as a initial dispatcher - in that timeline no firefighters prior
have spoken in a live insert on Television - I discussed the interview
request with my Captain at that time Ray Bird - He Captain of Engine
22 and of Guard Station Dorrington in Stanislaus National Forest - He
said "I wouldn't talk to them" - but I don't think you should either -
as news has a way of mixing up what is said. - replied I have my
freedom to discuss if I'am asked to - He said then make sure its the
Fact and again I don't think you should do the interview - what happen
next ended up being the biggest mess up in reporting - The interview
was based on how all the fire agencies work together in as it views
and such lead up to Congress question on Appropriate funds - and the
little UHF feed from Boise Idaho had CNN pick up the feed - and then
first time NBC picked up CNN - but what happen by the time it got to
NBC Today show News spot my name was misspelled and the report was
changed and now here is The problem - How does the material moved
throughout the world without a check on the person reported on with a
opinion not in a disclosure of anything beyond Affiliate - such
becomes beyond 3rd party and peoples lives are affected - such is to
be investigated by Congress.
